We’re about three months away from the 2017 Super Bowl, which will be the fifty first Big Game played. (Thus the Roman numerals in Super Bowl LI, see?) Super Bowl LI will be played on February 5th 2017, and this year the television event of the… um… year will take place in the lovely NRG Stadium in downtown Houston, Texas.

The stadium is named for the NRG Energy company, which has one of its two headquarters right there in Houston. Which makes sense. The stadium has a seating capacity of nearly 72,000 people, and assuming all those seats are filled, the game may well generate more than $315,000,000 in ticket sales alone. The current 2017 Super Bowl ticket price is $4,375. And once the serious scalping starts, it will only go up…

The weather for the game should be lovely, as the average temperature in Houston in February is in the mid 60s during the daytime. Now we just have to wait and see who shows up to play some football, and which companies show off their finery.
