What do you get when you cross Revolutionary War-era patriotic garb, double cheeseburgers, and a screeching bald eagle? You get a Jack in the Box Super Bowl commercial that’s pure America, baby.

Say what you will about the quality of the fast food in question (we have to say things like that stir up controversy, by the way. True story), the Jack in the Box Super Bowl 50 commercial, titled “Declaration of Delicious,” is well-produced and amusing. Just look how comically big that rowboat full of hamburgers is! Er… that rowboat full of Double Jacks, we mean!

And what a lovely slice of Americana it calls to mind, too! With thanks to German American painter Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze for his 1851 painting Washington Crossing the Delaware.
