We stand by our earlier assertion, dammit! Chevrolet’s Super Spot for its newest Silverado pickup is about a C- at best. The commercial starts off dramatic and reserved and ends up with a stumbling attempt at comedy.

The spot also firmly ensconces the Silverado as a truck great for folks who live way out in the country and are concerned with animal husbandry, and in so doing thus positions a competitor (say the iconic F-150) as the right truck for the urban environment.

So at least this ad got out of the way early, because it’s not one we were looking forward to seeing. Now we can look forward to all the other car commercials. Oh, except VW.
